I am in solidarity with the nurses at NYP-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital who have been advocating for a fair contract that improves nurse and patient safety.
Nurses need enforceable safe staffing standards to ensure there are always enough nurses to safely care for Brooklyn patients. They also need protections from workplace violence in the wake of a rising tide of violence in the hospital—and patients need to be safe and protected from violence when they are in the hospital, too. Nurse and patient safety cannot wait!
Our community deserves a hospital that is safe and delivers quality care to everyone who walks through the doors. As CEO of this hospital, it is your responsibility to create that environment. We respectfully demand that you prioritize negotiating a fair contract for Methodist nurses and patients now!
